Technical Developers play an important role on Zircon projects while accelerating their learning of technology and best practices. Technical Developers primarily act as individual contributors, working on assigned tasks independently within the larger team. Technical Developers assist senior resources at all stages of the development cycle and in some cases have direct client interaction.
1-5 years of technical development experience
Basic understanding of the following: Object-oriented design and development concepts; algorithms, data structures, web development technologies (JavaScript, AJAX); database design theory and SQL
Strong knowledge of either C, C++, Network programming, UNIX, or Java and familiarity with scripting languages such as PHP or Python. ACE/TAO a must, along with a thorough understanding of programming techniques on a multi-thread environment. Solid experience with debugging, reuse, source code management strategies (e.g. forking, branching), and/or release management
Some experience with web design and information architecture
Participate in analyzing client processes through needs analysis and assist in recommending new business models, workflows, or innovative solutions.
Write documentation for requirements analysis, design specifications, installation guides, or project work plan.
Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Good verbal and written communications skills; good presentation and facilitation skills

Senior Technical Developers play a critical delivery role on Zircon projects. These experienced individual contributors provide guidance to less experienced consultants and can lead small teams and work streams. They are expected to provide estimates for their own work (and a small team's work) to the Technical Lead or Architect to whom they report, and they interact with the lead level on the client side. Senior Developers provide high quality deliverables while developing both their technical skills and their consulting craft.
4-8 years of technical development experience
Strong knowledge of either C, C++, Network programming, UNIX, or Java and familiarity with scripting languages such as PHP or Python. ACE/TAO a must, along with a thorough understanding of programming techniques on a multi-thread environment.
Experience with several of the following: J2EE (EJB, Servlets, JSP, JMS, Struts, Hibernate, Spring, AJAX, Tag libraries); PHP; Javascript; SQL; Web Services (SOAP, REST); Databases (SQL, mySQL, Postgres, Oracle); Source Control (SVN/CVS/Rational)
A thorough understanding of OOAD methodologies, OO design patterns and popular open source J2EE Tools and Frameworks
Knowledge of web application MVC Architecture (Spring/Webwork/Struts or similar)
Significant experience with debugging, reuse, source code management strategies (e.g. forking, branching), and release management

Project Managers orchestrate client projects using our proven agile delivery approach, the Zircon Assembly Methodology. PM's shape large scale and complex client engagements, working with delivery teams of 6 or more members or multiple teams of smaller size. PM's manage the client relationship at the Director level and have a high-level of commitment to client success.
10+ years experience on technical project teams or in product development or professional services environments in delivery-related roles; 5+ years in project leadership roles
Experience in planning, organizing, and executing projects of varying complexity, delivering them within specified timeframes and budgets; extensive experience managing projects of similar size and scope in a systems integration environment
Experience in custom application development and all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Ability to define and ensure objective measures of complex programs and experience in tracking and assessing projects based on project plans, budgets and resources.
Understanding of broad aspects of Project Management: Systems Analysis, Training, Infrastructure, Code development/testing
Experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions and establishing task prioritization
Extensive understanding of Fixed Price project planning and delivery
Experience guiding hiring, training and employee development practices within a team and project-based environment

Technical Architects lead the technical portion of the Zircon engagement, particularly for large and complex solutions. TA's evangelize Zircon' technical capabilities during pre-sales activities and interact at the VP and CXO level on the client side. Technical Architects are responsible for writing technical portions of SOWs and Proposals. They are leveraged across projects to ensure teams deliver solutions that meet business goals and user requirements; they can also manage mid-size and large teams. Technical Architects provide external leadership by speaking at events and maintaining Zircon' presence in the community. They also lead the continuous improvement of Zircon' solution delivery and guide the hiring, training and employee development practices for our technical delivery team.
12+ years experience as a technical developer or related work experience; 6+ years in technical leadership roles; experience in a consulting environment
